Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all massage therapy and personal training services provided by THE MOBILE MASSAGE CO. (“we”, “us”, “our”, “I”) based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. By booking a session, you agree to the following terms.

1. Appointments & Bookings

  • All appointments must be booked in advance, either via phone, email  or in person.

  • You will receive confirmation of your booking once payment or deposit (if required) has been received.

  • All 30-minute and 60-minute massage sessions begin at the time of arrival. This includes consultation, assessment, and treatment within your booked session duration.

 

2. Payments

  • Payments can be made by cash, card, bank transfer.

  • Full payment can be made prior to the session / treatment or once session / treatment is complete.

  • Block sessions/packages must be used within 3months of purchase and are non-transferable.

 

3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full and are non-refundable.

  • Refunds are only provided in exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of THE MOBILE MASSAGE CO.

  • If we need to cancel or reschedule, you will be offered an alternative appointment or a full refund.

 

4. Health & Safety

  • Clients must complete a health and consent form before their first session.

  • It is your responsibility to inform us of any medical conditions, injuries, or changes to your health before each session.

  • We reserve the right to refuse treatment or training if it is deemed unsafe to proceed.

 

5. Liability

  • While every effort is made to provide a safe environment, THE MOBILE MASSAGE CO. is not liable for any pre-existing conditions, injuries, or issues arising from failure to disclose relevant health information.

  • Personal results may vary. No guarantees are made regarding specific fitness or health outcomes.

 

6. Client Conduct

  • Clients are expected to behave respectfully and appropriately during sessions.

  • Any inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate termination of the session / treatment with no refund, and possible termination of all future services.

 

7. Confidentiality

  • All personal and health information provided will be kept strictly confidential and stored in compliance with GDPR.

 

8. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

  • Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Disclaimer

  • Not a Substitute for Medical Advice: Massage therapy and personal training services provided by THE MOBILE MASSAGE CO. are not a substitute for medical treatment, diagnosis, or professional healthcare advice. Always consult with your GP or healthcare provider before beginning any new fitness program or receiving massage therapy, particularly if you have a pre-existing medical condition or injury.

  • Client Responsibility: You are responsible for disclosing any relevant medical conditions, injuries, or changes to your health before each session. Failure to do so may increase the risk of injury or adverse effects, for which we cannot be held liable.

  • Results May Vary: Outcomes from massage therapy and personal training differ from person to person. We do not guarantee specific results.

  • Assumption of Risk: By booking and attending sessions, you acknowledge that massage and exercise carry inherent risks. You accept full responsibility for your participation and release THE MOBILE MASSAGE CO. from any liability for injury, loss, or damage, except where caused by negligence.

When You Should Not Receive Massage Therapy (Contraindications)​

 

Massage therapy may not be suitable if you have any of the following. Please inform your therapist before your session:

Medical Conditions (require GP clearance or may prevent treatment):

  • Infectious or contagious illnesses (e.g., flu, cold, skin infections, Covid-19).

  • Fever or raised body temperature.

  • Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), blood clots, or circulatory disorders.

  • Severe heart conditions or uncontrolled high/low blood pressure.

  • Recent surgery or major injury (within the last 6 months, unless cleared by GP).

  • Cancer (unless written approval from your consultant/GP).

  • Diabetes with uncontrolled blood sugar or complications (neuropathy, ulcers).

  • Epilepsy (unless stable and managed).

  • Osteoporosis or bone fragility (moderate/severe).

  • Kidney or liver disease.

  • Hepatitis.

 

Local or Temporary Conditions (treatment may be avoided on specific areas):

  • Cuts, bruises, open wounds, or recent scar tissue.

  • Skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis flare-ups, rashes, athlete’s foot, warts, etc.).

  • Varicose veins or areas of swelling/inflammation.

  • Recent fractures or sprains.

 

Other Circumstances:

  • Pregnancy as we do not currently offer pregnancy massage.

  • Under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.

  • Severe pain of unknown cause (requires medical assessment first).
